Forgetting a password can be a major roadblock to your productivity, but regaining access to your Zoho account is a straightforward process. If you find yourself locked out, follow this guide to reset your password and secure your account.
Before You Begin
To ensure a smooth recovery process, please have the following ready:
- Your registered email address or mobile number.
- Access to your recovery methods (e.g., your secondary email or mobile device for OTP verification).
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) devices, if you have MFA enabled.
Step-by-Step Password Reset Process
1. Navigate to the Login Page
Visit accounts.zoho.com to access the official login portal.
2. Trigger the Reset
Click on the “Forgot Password?” link located on the login screen. You will be prompted to enter your registered email address, mobile number, or your Zoho username. Click “Next” to proceed.
3. Complete Security Verification
Enter the captcha displayed on the screen to prove you are a human user. You will then be asked to enter the last password you remember for your Zoho account.
- If you remember it: Verifying this allows for an immediate login.
- If you don’t remember it: Simply click the “Don’t remember?” link to proceed with alternative verification.
4. Verify Your Identity via OTP
Select your preferred method to receive a One-Time Password (OTP). You can have it sent to your primary email address, your recovery email, or your registered mobile number by clicking “View all options.” Once you receive the code, enter it into the verification field and click “Verify.”
5. Complete MFA (If Applicable)
If you have Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled, the system will prompt you to verify your identity through your configured authentication method before the reset can be finalized.
6. Set Your New Password
Once your identity is verified, you will be prompted to create a new password. Choose a strong, unique password that you haven’t used on other sites. Click “Change Password” to finalize the process.
Pro-Tip: Ensure Your Account Security
If you are resetting your password because you suspect unauthorized access, make sure to select the option to clear all existing sessions during the reset process. This will force a logout from all browsers, mobile apps, and API tokens, ensuring that any malicious parties are immediately cut off from your account.
